But Worms had a bloody great idea. Frost Pots !! What on earth are frost pots you may ask ? Well they are Diesel power heaters that the Hawkes Bay Vineyards run to stop frost. Just perfect for on the flightline, in fact the judging spot was the toastiest place to be. Out of the wind, next to the fire. Two of them could be heard chuffing away all weekend, with the occasional WOOF !! To keep you on your toes.
Other than a little chilly, the weather was pretty good and we flew. We flew Pattern. We flew Classic. We flew IMAC. We flew lots !!
A great weekend away down on the farm. If you didn’t make it, you missed a really good comp. A very social weekend, and worth the drive.
John Knox sent me a text on Saturday night. Find that 200 of Hamishes, the won he won in the Shootout Raffle, the one gathering dust … now see if you can sneak it into your van for me Bogan. ?Well we found the 200 alright, and John proceeded to receive as many photos of it as we could all night.
Congrats to Sean Galloway who was awarded the Mike Johnson Memorial Trophy.
