DESCRIPTION:Season opener. \nNow a one day event. \nHamilton MAC \nIMAC and Pattern. \nWe are expecting pretty good numbers at this event given it’s the first one of the season\, and the location is as central as it gets for a lot of us. This means even though this is a going to be a combined event\, we probably only have time for you to fly one class. Eg you might choose to fly F3A\, or perhaps Sportsman IMAC is more your favorite ? When you register please put the class you want fly in order of preference. Eg. 1 – Masters Pattern\, 2 – IMAC Intermediate\, and we will figure out what is going to work best to make the numbers works across the classes for a great comp. We’ve made this a combined event to get as many people there as we can\, and get some flying in. \nMore info closer to the time.

DESCRIPTION:Thats right\, it’s time to Rumble !!! \nDown in the Bay at Awatoto. Home of Model Flying Hawkes Bay. \nThe aerobatics scene has been growing nicely of late\, and as will now be running a NZ Masters for Pattern in January\, the Awatoto Rumble is going to revert back to being an IMAC only event. \nThis means more time to get the IMAC flying through\, and it also means more time for flying Unknowns !! At its highest point of attendance we flew the Rumble over three days\, and had a round of unknown each day. Thats right\, 3 unknowns !!! Meant you got to drop one. \nSo mark this one on the fridge now\, its the usual “last weekend in February” timing\, which is a little earlier than usual due to the way the weekends fall in Feb 2025. \nWe’ve had some really good events at Awatoto\, so make sure you get to this one. \nIt’s a 3 day event\, the flying will start on Friday morning. \nCamping at the field as per usual. Mobile shower will be operational. Or you can rough it at a local motel. \nMore info closer to the time.

DESCRIPTION:Following a very successful F3A Trans Tasman event in February 2024 at Hamilton MAC\, with superb weather\, a great attendance\, plus a great field location located relatively close to Auckland Airport for international guests to join us …. \nAnnouncing …. The 2025 NZ Masters !!! \nThats right … we are resurrecting this event. A 3 day pattern event for all classes\, F3A through to Clubman. \nJanuary 17/18/19 … its holiday time for most people in NZ\, plus school holidays too. And it’s also Wellington Anniversary weekend which means people south of Taupo get the Monday off as a bonus. \nThis will be a 3 day event running Friday to Sunday. The field will be open from Thursday for setup and practice. \n6 round contest. \nClasses flown: Clubman\, Expert\, Masters A25\, F3A P\, F3A P + F \nNotes: \nF3A P will fly 6 rounds of P25. This class is for fliers who are not interested in trialing for NZ team\, and have no interest in flying F schedule. They just wanna fly P !! \nF3A P + F. The big boys. 4 rounds of P. Top 50% (or at least 4 fliers) will then move on to fly 2 rounds F25. Std 4P2F format for the scoring. Drop 1 P\, carry the avg into the final. Two F flights are flown. You get to drop 1 of the scores from your 1P2F. \nFor the bottom 50% of the P + F class\, they will go into a 2 round “P” flyoff. We did this at the TT and it worked really well. So if you don’t make the cut\, you will still fly 6 rounds. \nThe F3A P + F event will serve as the 2025 NZ Team Trial selection for international rankings\, for 2025\, and through to the next trial. \nEntry Fees: \nClubman\, Expert\, Masters\, F3A P – $50. \nF3A P + F (and Team Trial) – $100. \nInternational Pilots are welcome !! When we ran the TT\, we made it free for the Ozzies\, and its likely we would be doing something like that again to attract as many internationals as we can to promote our NZ Masters into becoming a popular international event\, much like the Australian Masters. DESCRIPTION:Aerobatics Primer / coaching day.\nThis coming Saturday 28th September at Matamata Piako MAC. Waharoa Aerodrome. Jaggers road.\nWeather looks good. Yes its on !!! It will not be cancelled\, cause now I’ve been passed the baton and will be running it. So you are in for a laugh if nothing else.\n\n\nSo what’s it all about ?\n\n\nIt’s primarily aimed at newbies keen to improve their flying skills. We will focus on the NZ Clubman schedule. A basic centre manoeuvres only sequence that can be flown with a sport model. Even a foamie. If you can do a loop and a roll you can handle it. Trust me.\n\n\nBut as well as this we will be doing general aerobatics practice and with some experts helping on the day we are able to help you if you want a bit of coaching / setup tips etc\, whether that be your 2m pattern model or your IMAC ship. Learn from the best.\n\n\nDisclaimer … we only have 900 feet at Waharoa. It’s perfect for pattern and some of the entry level IMAC classes. But a 3m IMAC model with a 150 in it … can’t be done\, so don’t bring it. 50cc / 70cc is just fine.\nYou need to be an MFNZ member and ideally you have passed the basic wings test. But we will have qualified supervisors on site if you haven’t. Waharoa is an active aerodrome\, so we have a few safety factors in play.\n\n\nBurgers on the BBQ at lunch time. Moderately fresh buns.\n\n\nLet me know if you are thinking you might make it.\n\n\nDon’t miss out on this opportunity\, the aerobatics contest calendar starts the week after and we have events right through the summer around the North Island. DESCRIPTION:Thats right\, it’s time to Rumble !!! \nBack on\, and back at Awatoto. Home of Model Flying Hawkes Bay. \nLast year was a bit “damp” with a cyclone  making its mark on the Hawkes Bay\, the field was washed away. \nBut like a phoenix rising from the ashes\, the Awatoto site is backup and running\, and will host the Aerobatics Rumble in 2024. \nMark this one on the fridge now\, usual “last weekend in February” timing. We’ve had some really good events at Awatoto\, so makes sure you get to this one. \nCombined Pattern and IMAC. \nIt’s a 3 day event\, the flying will start on Friday morning. \nAt the previous rumble\, we had lots of people camping at the field\, and now we have the mobile shower setup\, it’s going to make this a really good option. \nAlso note that the weekend before the Rumble\, NZ is hosting an F3A Trans Tasman event\, so we are hoping that a few of the visitors take a scenic drive to the Bay\, and fly in the Rumble too. We shall see !!

DESCRIPTION:The F3A Trans Tasman will be held at Hamilton MAC. \nThe dates are Friday 16th\, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th Feb 2024. \nFriday is practise day. \nHMAC is an awesome venue with a south facing setup\, a superbly manicured 120m long grass runway\, and the prevailing wind is westerly. At this time of year\, we expect hot weather and light winds … however we will not be held to that prediction !! Its NZ right … \nFor the visitors\, the venue is close to Auckland Airport (approx 1.5 hour drive south). We will have transport and accom sorted. Just get your flight booked !! \nPractice and setup on Thursday 16th & 17th. \nAt the last three Trans Tasmans\, as a cunning way to generate some more judging power\, and to include more pilots\, we have also flown the F3A Advanced class. This is now the A25 sequence. If we get some interest from the ozzies wanting to come over and fly this class\, we have A25 pilots here ready and waiting to go. If A25 does not eventuate\, then we can look at splitting the F3A fliers into a P group\, and a P + F group. Which means they can judge for each other. But ideally we want to see A25 guys flying\, which means we can run one F3A class. \nWe need prelim entries by 1st December. Realistically if you are coming over from Ozzy\, you will want to have booked an airfare by then anyway. \nMore details will be posted closer to the event. \n*** update *** \nFriday (Practise Day) we will doing Beer & Pizza at the field. Plus we want to try and get a Trans Tasman “Classic” Pattern going to\, as a fun event. Kiwis vs Ozzies. Depends on if we can get enough classic models lined up for the ozzies to fly. \nSaturday night – Dinner at the Foundation Bar & Restaurant\, Te Awa. Easy. \n

DESCRIPTION:This one is becoming a regular on the calendar\, and has been a great event in the past. \n2 days combined IMAC and Pattern = Classic if time permits. \nFor you people down south of Taupo\, this falls on Wellington Anniversary weekend\, So you have all Monday as a public holiday\, and plenty of time to drive home. \nOnce again the club are allowing us to use the field all weekend. You can get there early on Friday for practise. \nLast time we were there\, the weather was magic. \nPlus camping at the field is really good. Mobile shower will be in action. BBQ saturday night onsite\, no driving all the way into town only to find the restaurants closed at rest home dinning hours. \nBook this weekend away now\, before you end up having to go to the beach again. All that sand !! Gets everywhere.

DESCRIPTION:Can you get a leave pass for this one so close to XMAS ? \nWe’ve chosen Sunday for this event\, cause we reckon people will be family/work XMAS BBQ stuff on the Saturday\, so Sunday\, time to go flying. \nBoth October and November IMAC events at Galatea were cancelled\, so if people want to fly some IMAC too\, then we can run this event as a mixed meeting. Please note … JR Airsail is pretty remote\, but they have neighbours too …. so think about how much noise your setup makes before you rock up with a set of “cackle cans” and the wrong prop. A tap on the shoulder from the field owner just might spoil your day.
