DESCRIPTION:Aerobatics Primer / coaching day.\nThis coming Saturday 28th September at Matamata Piako MAC. Waharoa Aerodrome. Jaggers road.\nWeather looks good. Yes its on !!! It will not be cancelled\, cause now I’ve been passed the baton and will be running it. So you are in for a laugh if nothing else.\n\n\nSo what’s it all about ?\n\n\nIt’s primarily aimed at newbies keen to improve their flying skills. We will focus on the NZ Clubman schedule. A basic centre manoeuvres only sequence that can be flown with a sport model. Even a foamie. If you can do a loop and a roll you can handle it. Trust me.\n\n\nBut as well as this we will be doing general aerobatics practice and with some experts helping on the day we are able to help you if you want a bit of coaching / setup tips etc\, whether that be your 2m pattern model or your IMAC ship. Learn from the best.\n\n\nDisclaimer … we only have 900 feet at Waharoa. It’s perfect for pattern and some of the entry level IMAC classes. But a 3m IMAC model with a 150 in it … can’t be done\, so don’t bring it. 50cc / 70cc is just fine.\nYou need to be an MFNZ member and ideally you have passed the basic wings test. But we will have qualified supervisors on site if you haven’t. Waharoa is an active aerodrome\, so we have a few safety factors in play.\n\n\nBurgers on the BBQ at lunch time. Moderately fresh buns.\n\n\nLet me know if you are thinking you might make it.\n\n\nDon’t miss out on this opportunity\, the aerobatics contest calendar starts the week after and we have events right through the summer around the North Island. DESCRIPTION:Thats right\, it’s time to Rumble !!! \nBack on\, and back at Awatoto. Home of Model Flying Hawkes Bay. \nLast year was a bit “damp” with a cyclone  making its mark on the Hawkes Bay\, the field was washed away. \nBut like a phoenix rising from the ashes\, the Awatoto site is backup and running\, and will host the Aerobatics Rumble in 2024. \nMark this one on the fridge now\, usual “last weekend in February” timing. We’ve had some really good events at Awatoto\, so makes sure you get to this one. \nCombined Pattern and IMAC. \nIt’s a 3 day event\, the flying will start on Friday morning. \nAt the previous rumble\, we had lots of people camping at the field\, and now we have the mobile shower setup\, it’s going to make this a really good option. \nAlso note that the weekend before the Rumble\, NZ is hosting an F3A Trans Tasman event\, so we are hoping that a few of the visitors take a scenic drive to the Bay\, and fly in the Rumble too. We shall see !!

DESCRIPTION:The F3A Trans Tasman will be held at Hamilton MAC. \nThe dates are Friday 16th\, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th Feb 2024. \nFriday is practise day. \nHMAC is an awesome venue with a south facing setup\, a superbly manicured 120m long grass runway\, and the prevailing wind is westerly. At this time of year\, we expect hot weather and light winds … however we will not be held to that prediction !! Its NZ right … \nFor the visitors\, the venue is close to Auckland Airport (approx 1.5 hour drive south). We will have transport and accom sorted. Just get your flight booked !! \nPractice and setup on Thursday 16th & 17th. \nAt the last three Trans Tasmans\, as a cunning way to generate some more judging power\, and to include more pilots\, we have also flown the F3A Advanced class. This is now the A25 sequence. If we get some interest from the ozzies wanting to come over and fly this class\, we have A25 pilots here ready and waiting to go. If A25 does not eventuate\, then we can look at splitting the F3A fliers into a P group\, and a P + F group. Which means they can judge for each other. But ideally we want to see A25 guys flying\, which means we can run one F3A class. \nWe need prelim entries by 1st December. Realistically if you are coming over from Ozzy\, you will want to have booked an airfare by then anyway. \nMore details will be posted closer to the event. \n*** update *** \nFriday (Practise Day) we will doing Beer & Pizza at the field. Plus we want to try and get a Trans Tasman “Classic” Pattern going to\, as a fun event. Kiwis vs Ozzies. Depends on if we can get enough classic models lined up for the ozzies to fly. \nSaturday night – Dinner at the Foundation Bar & Restaurant\, Te Awa. Easy. \n

DESCRIPTION:This one is becoming a regular on the calendar\, and has been a great event in the past. \n2 days combined IMAC and Pattern = Classic if time permits. \nFor you people down south of Taupo\, this falls on Wellington Anniversary weekend\, So you have all Monday as a public holiday\, and plenty of time to drive home. \nOnce again the club are allowing us to use the field all weekend. You can get there early on Friday for practise. \nLast time we were there\, the weather was magic. \nPlus camping at the field is really good. Mobile shower will be in action. BBQ saturday night onsite\, no driving all the way into town only to find the restaurants closed at rest home dinning hours. \nBook this weekend away now\, before you end up having to go to the beach again. All that sand !! Gets everywhere.

DESCRIPTION:Can you get a leave pass for this one so close to XMAS ? \nWe’ve chosen Sunday for this event\, cause we reckon people will be family/work XMAS BBQ stuff on the Saturday\, so Sunday\, time to go flying. \nBoth October and November IMAC events at Galatea were cancelled\, so if people want to fly some IMAC too\, then we can run this event as a mixed meeting. Please note … JR Airsail is pretty remote\, but they have neighbours too …. so think about how much noise your setup makes before you rock up with a set of “cackle cans” and the wrong prop. A tap on the shoulder from the field owner just might spoil your day.

DESCRIPTION:We had our first Kaikohe event in 2022\, and we are booked in again for 2023. \nThe venue is awesome. Big sky. Lots of runway. Trust me\, its worth the drive. \nThis time slightly earlier\, to make the last of the day light savings. \nCamping at the field is the place to be\, and we will have the mobile shower setup working this time. \nSaturday night there will be a BBQ at the field. \nA few locals came and had a go last time\, and many watched and learned. Hopefully we get some more action from those guys\, especially the Kaitaia lot ? \nMark your fridge. \nSign up and let us know you are coming.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time to visit the Naki !! \nThe NZRCAA have been running “intro to aerobatics” events around the countryside\, and it was only a matter of time before we need to get down to the Taranaki area. \nThere are loads of guys over in the Naki that can do loops and rolls\, the New Plymouth site is awesome. \nThe club are keen to host an event. Now all we need to do is show up and make it happen. \nThe Chocolate Fish challenge will be on\, for anyone from the local club that has a go at the grueling Clubman sequence with their sport model. If you can do a loop\, and you can do a roll\, you can handle clubman. \nWe will also run Pattern and IMAC classes too. Plus Classic. \nGet this one on the calendar now\, more info closer to the time. \nThis will be a good weekend\, Justin\, Mike and all the guys will make us feel welcome\, guaranteed. \n  \n

SUMMARY:BOP Aerobatic Champs - Tect Park - Tauranga MAC
DESCRIPTION:We’ve got a 2 day event booked in for Tect Park in January. \nFor you people down south of Taupo\, this falls on Wellington Anniversary weekend\, So you have Monday as a public holiday\, and plenty of time to drive home. \nTo date this has been a great weekend\, and once again the club are allowing us to use the field all weekend. \nLast time we were there\, the weather was magic. Very little wind all weekend. It did rain in the middle of the night\, but we won’t mention that John Knox. Too soon. \nThe event will be a mixture of Pattern and IMAC\, and hopefully time for some classic too. \nWe have the mobile shower setup now\, so with a bit of luck we can get camping at the field working for more people\, and a BBQ onsite Saturday night. Its summer time !! That means long daylight hours\, and warm. Pitch a tent. The restaurants in Tauranga all close far too early so the employees can get back to the rest home\, take their teeth out and get an early night. Racing back to get fed before they closed was a pain last time. \nBook this weekend away now\, before you end up having to go to the beach again. All that sand !! Gets everywhere.
