SUMMARY:Trans Tasman - Hamilton MAC
DESCRIPTION:The F3A Trans Tasman will be held at Hamilton MAC. \nThe dates are Friday 16th\, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th Feb 2024. \nFriday is practise day. \nHMAC is an awesome venue with a south facing setup\, a superbly manicured 120m long grass runway\, and the prevailing wind is westerly. At this time of year\, we expect hot weather and light winds … however we will not be held to that prediction !! Its NZ right … \nFor the visitors\, the venue is close to Auckland Airport (approx 1.5 hour drive south). We will have transport and accom sorted. Just get your flight booked !! \nPractice and setup on Thursday 16th & 17th. \nAt the last three Trans Tasmans\, as a cunning way to generate some more judging power\, and to include more pilots\, we have also flown the F3A Advanced class. This is now the A25 sequence. If we get some interest from the ozzies wanting to come over and fly this class\, we have A25 pilots here ready and waiting to go. If A25 does not eventuate\, then we can look at splitting the F3A fliers into a P group\, and a P + F group. Which means they can judge for each other. But ideally we want to see A25 guys flying\, which means we can run one F3A class. \nWe need prelim entries by 1st December. Realistically if you are coming over from Ozzy\, you will want to have booked an airfare by then anyway. \nMore details will be posted closer to the event. \n*** update *** \nFriday (Practise Day) we will doing Beer & Pizza at the field. Plus we want to try and get a Trans Tasman “Classic” Pattern going to\, as a fun event. Kiwis vs Ozzies. Depends on if we can get enough classic models lined up for the ozzies to fly. \nSaturday night – Dinner at the Foundation Bar & Restaurant\, Te Awa. Easy. \n

SUMMARY:The Rumble - Awatoto
DESCRIPTION:Thats right\, it’s time to Rumble !!! \nBack on\, and back at Awatoto. Home of Model Flying Hawkes Bay. \nLast year was a bit “damp” with a cyclone  making its mark on the Hawkes Bay\, the field was washed away. \nBut like a phoenix rising from the ashes\, the Awatoto site is backup and running\, and will host the Aerobatics Rumble in 2024. \nMark this one on the fridge now\, usual “last weekend in February” timing. We’ve had some really good events at Awatoto\, so makes sure you get to this one. \nCombined Pattern and IMAC. \nIt’s a 3 day event\, the flying will start on Friday morning. \nAt the previous rumble\, we had lots of people camping at the field\, and now we have the mobile shower setup\, it’s going to make this a really good option. \nAlso note that the weekend before the Rumble\, NZ is hosting an F3A Trans Tasman event\, so we are hoping that a few of the visitors take a scenic drive to the Bay\, and fly in the Rumble too. We shall see !!
